Cambodia’s ANUGA 2025 Debut Achieves First EU Export Shipment

Phnom Penh, 23 November 2025 — Cambodia marks an important milestone with its first export shipment resulting directly from participation at ANUGA 2025, the world’s leading food and beverage trade fair in Cologne, Germany. Handcrafted Cashew Nut Stung Treng (HCST) successfully dispatched premium cashew products to Berlin, Germany, demonstrating the growing international reach of Cambodian exporters.

This achievement reflects the strong partnership between the European Union (EU), the Government of Germany, and Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce to support Cambodian businesses in accessing global markets.

Cambodia’s first National Pavilion, themed “Cambodia Basket of Wonders,” was launched at ANUGA 2025. Organised by Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) in cooperation with Germany and the EU, the pavilion featured eight export-ready companies showcasing a range of high-quality Cambodian products, such as cashew nut, pepper, dried fruit, etc. HCST’s shipment signals the increasing competitiveness of Cambodia’s food and beverage sector on the international stage.

The pavilion received positive feedback from exhibitors, buyers, and visitors. Participants expressed that ANUGA 2025 provided an excellent platform to present authentic Cambodian products and further refine their offerings. Many also recognized the pavilion’s role in supporting their efforts to enter the EU market and contribute to long-term export growth. Visitors further praised the pavilion’s clean visual identity, well-planned layout, and functional, attractive design.

Participating companies benefited from comprehensive export development support provided by Germany and the EU, including:

  • Dedicated exhibition spaces with customized branding
  • Pre-fair training and coaching for trade readiness
  • Matchmaking sessions with international buyers
  • Sales coaching focused on negotiation and commercial success

As a result, companies secured at least five deals on site and generated multiple promising commercial leads.

The Ministry of Commerce, along with Germany and the European Union, remains committed to strengthening Cambodia’s export capabilities and helping local businesses expand their international presence.
